Adult Protective Service Workers interact directly with the adult who has a developmental disability to help them access and maintain services and supports including GENERIC SERVICES AND SUPPORTS available to any member of the community. The Adult Protective Service Worker helps by supporting the individual to learn ways of managing their life in the community.
Applying for the APSW program:
Developmental Services Onatrio (DSO) is the single point of access for Ministry-funded adult developmental services and supports.
When people apply for minsitry funded adult developmental supports for the first time including APSW services and supports , they MUST contact thier local DSO organization to have their eligibility confirmed and complete the Application Package.
Each DSO organization will:
- Confirm eligibility for those applying for Ministry -funded adult developmental services and supports for the first time
- Complete the Application Package to assess each individual's service and support needs, and
- Link eligible and prioritized adults to available services and supports.
